Job summary

PEMCO seeks a Senior Data Scientist - Actuarial to lead complex actuarial and predictive analysis supporting product development, rating, reserving, and system changes. The role involves independent analytical support, large-scale modeling, and developing pricing strategies in collaboration with the Product Team.

Candidates should have a degree in Actuarial Science or related field, 6+ years of experience, and strong SQL, Python, R, or SAS skills.

Qualifications

• Independent complex actuarial support for product development and rating.
• Develop large-scale predictive modeling and multivariate analysis.
• Create queries and tools to support pricing strategies and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with Product Team and other units to deliver solutions.
• Document workflows and business processes; drive efficiency improvements.
• Mentor less experienced team members and share best practices.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform complex analytical support for actuarial and product development.
• Develop large-scale predictive modeling and multivariate analysis.
• Create queries and tools to assist the development and implementation of rates, rating plans, pricing strategies and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with Product Team and other business units to provide business solutions.
• Develop and document system workflows and business processes.
• Pioneer best practice in building tools and processes to create efficiencies.
• Mentor less experienced members, helping them improve and sharpen their skills by sharing best practices.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.
