Overview
The Senior Data Scientist will join a highly skilled data science team and work directly with a talented team of software engineers, auditors, product managers, and customer experience managers to analyze healthcare data and deliver value for our clients.
This is a remote position in Australia.
Responsibilities
- Design and build data science models and product features to achieve the business goals
- Understand and translate business requirements from internal and external stakeholders into data products and features
- Apply state-of-the-art AI/machine learning techniques to resolve analytical problems
- Research and identify appropriate AI models to suit business needs
- Collaborate with team members to build integrated analytic solutions, including data pipelines, modeling, and dashboards
- Serve as a subject matter expert in data and analytics in client engagements to help our customers get increased value from our products
- Work with subject matter experts to validate analytical insights and findings
- Analyze and present actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders to enable informed decision-making
- Generate reports and dashboards to communicate key insights
- Develop Proof of Concepts and working demos
- Delegate tasks to and mentor junior data scientists
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in data science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or related fields
- 5+ years’ experience in a commercial advanced analytics environment
- Solid skills in building statistical/data science models
- Ability to create or modify existing AI/ML techniques to suit business needs
- Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLMs, and other advanced AI techniques
- Hands-on experience in Python
- Excellent communication skills
Desired skills:
- Experience in healthcare industry highly regarded
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) applications (QuickSight, S3, Sagemaker, HealthLake)
- Experience with agile software development
