Job description

Overview

The Senior Data Scientist will join a highly skilled data science team and work directly with a talented team of software engineers, auditors, product managers, and customer experience managers to analyze healthcare data and deliver value for our clients.

This is a remote position in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data science models and product features to achieve the business goals
• Understand and translate business requirements from internal and external stakeholders into data products and features
• Apply state-of-the-art AI/machine learning techniques to resolve analytical problems
• Research and identify appropriate AI models to suit business needs
• Collaborate with team members to build integrated analytic solutions, including data pipelines, modeling, and dashboards
• Serve as a subject matter expert in data and analytics in client engagements to help our customers get increased value from our products
• Work with subject matter experts to validate analytical insights and findings
• Analyze and present actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders to enable informed decision-making
• Generate reports and dashboards to communicate key insights
• Develop Proof of Concepts and working demos
• Delegate tasks to and mentor junior data scientists

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in data science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or related fields
• 5+ years’ experience in a commercial advanced analytics environment
• Solid skills in building statistical/data science models
• Ability to create or modify existing AI/ML techniques to suit business needs
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLMs, and other advanced AI techniques
• Hands-on experience in Python
• Excellent communication skills

Desired skills:

• Experience in healthcare industry highly regarded
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) applications (QuickSight, S3, Sagemaker, HealthLake)
• Experience with agile software development
