Base pay range

81.00 / hr - $92.00 / hr

Job Title : Sr. Data Scientist

Employment Type : Contract (6 months, potential to extend up to 3 years)

Compensation : $81–$92 per hour (W2, based on experience)

Schedule : Monday – Friday, core hours aligned with Pacific Time

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Data Scientist to join a cross-functional team supporting biomarker discovery and clinical data analysis in a biotech environment. This fully remote role focuses on developing advanced machine learning models using multi-omics and real-world data to drive innovation in personalized medicine. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in bioinformatics, data science, and statistical modeling, with the ability to collaborate across scientific and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain pipelines for survival prediction and endpoint association using multi-omics data
• Perform integrative analyses across clinical trial and real-world data to identify predictive safety / efficacy biomarkers
• Apply machine learning libraries in R and Python for modeling, validation, and interpretation
• Lead data QC, preprocessing, feature engineering, and model deployment workflows
• Communicate findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders including R&D and clinical teams
• Contribute to publication-quality research in biomarker and translational science initiatives

Basic Qualifications

One of the following is required :

• PhD and 1–2 years of relevant scientific experience, or
• Master’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant scientific experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of relevant scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced experience analyzing large-scale biological datasets (genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic)
• Background in bioinformatics, biostatistics, or applied mathematics
• Expertise in clinical biomarker discovery and survival analysis
• Proficient in Python and R; familiar with DevOps tools for reproducible science
• Experience in pharma / biotech, especially supporting clinical development or translational science
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills in a remote-first team
