Job description

Genesis10 is currently looking for a Sr Data Engineer (DataStage & GCP) for a 6 month contract to hire role for our client in Minneapolis, MN. This role is 100% remote.

Purpose:

Enable and deliver industry-leading data-driven reporting and insights using modern data architecture, data science, and machine learning.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate, identify, and implement application system changes and develop new applications.
• Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed application systems to process data.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs; collaborate with team members providing technical advice and training.
• Consult with System Analysts, Technical Leads, and Project Managers to establish specifications and estimations on complex initiatives and requests.
• Develop detailed descriptions of user needs, system design, program functions, and steps for system modifications; review specifications with stakeholders to ensure compliance.
• Work with stakeholders to develop and implement acceptance test plans to ensure the product meets requirements.
• Assist technical staff and less experienced team members in user specifications, coding, testing, and debugging.
• Engage in daily interactions with team members for design reviews, code reviews, and support.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of experience in application development or software implementations.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• 5+ years of GCP/Cloud experience as a Developer.
• 3+ years with GCP services like Composer, BigQuery, Dataflow, DataPlex.
• 2+ years of Python and SQL experience.

Nice to Have Tech:

• Container technology (Docker)
• Kubernetes
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts with a developer background
• Java

Must Haves:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud services
• 3+ years in data warehousing

Compensation:

Hourly W2 pay rate $70.00 to $80.00/hr. Additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions available.
