Danology, based in Greenville, SC, seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead end-to-end data science engagements in financial services, including credit risk, fraud detection, and customer analytics. You will own client engagements from scoping to delivery and mentor junior data scientists.

The role is hybrid in Greenville with exposure to cutting-edge modeling techniques, collaboration with technical teams, and direct presentation to client executives.

Formación

• 5+ years of data science experience, including 2–3 years working with financial services data.
• Strong Python (pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost/LightGBM) and SQL; R is a plus.
• Experience deploying models on AWS or Azure.
• Working knowledge of credit products and relevant regulations (e.g., fair lending, model governance).
• Ability to work directly with clients and lead projects with minimal supervision.
• Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Build, validate, and deploy credit risk models (PD, loss forecasting, scorecards).
• Build, validate, and deploy fraud detection models (transaction monitoring, real-time detection).
• Build, validate, and deploy customer analytics models (segmentation, churn, next-best-offer).
• Translate business needs into modeling problems and communicate tradeoffs to clients.
• Produce documentation for model risk management (SR 11-7 or similar).
• Present results to client executives and technical teams.
• Mentor 2–3 junior data scientists.

Danology is hiring a Senior Data Scientist for financial services, focused on building and deploying credit risk, fraud detection, and customer analytics models. This hybrid role is based in Greenville, SC and includes end-to-end ownership of client engagements, collaboration with technical teams, and mentorship of junior data scientists.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data science delivery on client engagements, from initial scoping through final delivery.
• Manage typically 1–2 engagements at a time.
• Build, validate, and deploy credit risk models, including probability-of-default, loss forecasting, and scorecard development.
• Build, validate, and deploy fraud detection models, including transaction monitoring and near-real-time anomaly detection.
• Build, validate, and deploy customer analytics models, including segmentation, churn, and next-best-offer modeling.
• Translate ambiguous business needs into clear modeling problem statements and communicate modeling tradeoffs to clients.
• Produce documentation suitable for model risk management review, including SR 11-7 or similar requirements.
• Present results to client executives and to technical teams.
• Mentor 2–3 junior data scientists through code reviews and methodology discussions.
