Responsibilities

  • Lead feature engineering to identify and select critical features that improve model predictive power.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate and access data from multiple sources, including data lakes and data warehouses.

  • Design and analyze A/B tests to measure the impact of changes and improvements.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists to support their growth.

Denken Solutions Inc is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support high-impact analytics and machine learning work in Forest Park, GA on an onsite basis. This contract role blends advanced modeling, experimentation, and responsible data practices, with leadership responsibilities across the organization’s data science direction.

The position is designed for an experienced data science professional with a strong foundation in quantitative methods and a track record of deploying production-ready solutions, from predictive modeling through real-time decision support.

What you will do
  • Work with complex datasets to perform deep analysis and produce actionable insights using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Develop and deploy sophisticated machine learning models to predict trends, behaviors, and outcomes, including approaches such as deep learning, ensemble methods, and neural networks.
  • Create data visualizations that clearly communicate findings using Tableau, Power BI, or custom Python visualizations.
  • Lead feature engineering to identify and select critical features that improve model predictive power.
  • Formulate, implement, and test hypotheses with robust statistical validation to support important business decisions.
  • Lead the development and optimization of machine learning algorithms to address complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate and access data from multiple sources, including data lakes and data warehouses.
  • Oversee the deployment of machine learning models in production environments to enable real-time decision-making and business applications.
  • Design and analyze A/B tests to measure the impact of changes, optimizations, and improvements.
  • Ensure ethical data practices, privacy compliance, and adherence to data protection regulations across data science initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineers, business analysts, domain experts, and executives, to align data science work with organizational goals.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists to support their growth and development.
  • Influence the data-driven culture by shaping the data science roadmap and contributing to long‑term data strategy.
  • Stay current with new tools, techniques, and trends to continuously innovate and evaluate emerging technologies.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (examples include Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering).
  • 10 to 15 years of data science experience, including an extensive track record implementing data solutions and driving data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or Julia.
  • Expert‑level knowledge of machine learning algorithms and how to apply them.
  • Strong data visualization skills using Tableau, Power BI, or Python visualization libraries such as Matplotlib and Seaborn.
  • Deep understanding of databases and data manipulation using SQL.
  • Outstanding problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills for explaining complex insights to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Expertise in data ethics, privacy, and compliance considerations.
