Job summary

You will lead a data science team, define rigorous evaluation signals, collaborate with product, engineering and systems teams, measure performance in new territories, and communicate insights to senior stakeholders while mentoring other

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Physics).
• PhD with 8+ years or 12+ years of industry experience in DS problems.
• Experience as both a technical lead and a people manager.
• Experience in cross-functional teams and data-driven culture.
• Expertise with advanced statistical methods; familiarity with ML systems/models.
• Knowledge of data analysis libraries in Python, R, and/or SQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead a data science team evaluating the Waymo Driver’s rule compliance.
• Develop evaluation framework for road rules across countries.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and systems teams to align roadmaps.
• Measure performance in new territories and hardware platforms; report to stakeholders.
• Serve as technical contributor and people manager, guiding priorities and mentoring.
