Job description

The Senior Data & Reporting Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Centella’s databases, and for the integrity, security, and structure of the company’s data. This role owns our reporting capabilities end to end; building, maintaining, and improving the reports and dashboards that give leadership and staff reliable, timely insight into the business. This is an internal role focused on turning company data into a trusted, well-organized asset that supports good decisions across Centella.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain company databases, ensuring proper structure, normalization, and performance across business systems.
  • Own the integrity, accuracy, and security of company data, establishing standards, validation rules, and processes that prevent errors, duplication, and data loss.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve reports, dashboards, and other reporting tools that give departments reliable, self-service access to key business metrics.
  • Partner with department leaders to gather reporting requirements and translate business questions into data models, queries, and reports.
  • Develop and maintain data integration processes (ETL) that connect data across business systems, including ERP, CRM, and other core platforms.
  • Monitor data quality, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and lead root-cause analysis to prevent recurring data issues.
  • Document data definitions, data dictionaries, and data flow processes so the company’s data is well understood and consistently used.
  • Establish and enforce data governance practices, including access controls, retention rules, and compliance with relevant regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Train and support staff on reporting tools and self-service reporting, and produce ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested.
  • Work with the IT Manager and other departments on system implementations and upgrades that affect company data, ensuring data is migrated, mapped, and validated correctly.
  • Stay current on best practices in database management, business intelligence, and data privacy, and recommend improvements to our data and reporting environment.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and role-based security across databases and reporting platforms, ensuring appropriate levels of access to sensitive and patient-related data.
  • Support database backup, recovery, and business continuity planning, coordinating with IT to minimize downtime and data loss risk.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of relational database design, structure, and administration.
  • Proficient in SQL and skilled at writing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Experience building reports and dashboards in business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Able to translate business questions into data models, reports, and actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to explain data and technical concepts in plain language to non-technical staff and leadership.
  • Understands data governance, security, and privacy principles, including regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Able to manage multiple reporting requests and projects, prioritizing effectively and meeting deadlines.
  • Comfortable automating recurring reporting tasks and building self-service tools that reduce manual, ad-hoc data pulls over time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, data management, or business intelligence/reporting roles.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, implementing, and maintaining relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, stored procedures, and data modeling.
  • Experience building reports and dashboards using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Experience with ETL processes and integrating data across multiple business systems.
