United Airlines is seeking a Principal Engineer for Data Protection & Insider Threat to drive secure and resilient systems. You will enable analysts, develop DLP and Insider Threat strategies, and partner with data protection leads to shape technology roadmaps.

This role demands strategic vision, strong leadership, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to reduce attack surfaces and strengthen cyber defenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years in cybersecurity.
• Ability to influence technology and processes.
• Experience with DLP and insider threat is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Team Enablement: collaborate with analysts to implement technology solutions for Insider Threat prevention, detection, and response.
• Program Development: enable solutions supporting DLP and Insider Threat initiatives.
• Strategic Partnership: work with Data Protection and Insider Threat Lead Analysts to define technology strategies.
• Risk Reduction: influence tool and process decisions to reduce cyber threat risks.
• Roadmap Management: identify gaps and oversee updated roadmap based on evolving attack surfaces.
• Leadership & Innovation: guide the team in implementing solutions aligned with organizational mission.
