United Airlines is seeking an Engineer – Infrastructure and Cloud Cybersecurity to mature security architecture across IT projects and partner with product, platform, engineering and operations teams to embed best practices throughout the lifecycle. The role focuses on strengthening cyber controls and playbooks to support resilient airline operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical role or ECDLP.
• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure services, concepts and best practices.
• Baseline proficiency with QuickSight, Glue, or comparable tools like PowerBI or Tableau.
• Basic understanding of secure connectivity methods via private or encrypted means.
• Basic understanding of cloud interconnectivity methods.
• Basic understanding of zero trust network architectures and principles.
• Basic understanding with security assessments and remediation guidance.
• Working knowledge in secure configuration practices for operating systems and infrastructure components.
• Ability to work independently and self-motivate.

Responsibilities

• Enhance cybersecurity team accomplishments by planning delivery of solutions.
• Determine cybersecurity requirements by evaluating business strategies and use cases.
• Plan, research, and design robust cybersecurity architectures for IT projects.
• Regularly communicate information, security needs and priorities to upper management.
• Remain up to date with the latest security systems and standards.
• Design cybersecurity architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge.
• Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats.
• Define, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures and standards.
