Job summary

Amazon's Frontier AI data processing team seeks an experienced Software Development Engineer to design and optimize large-scale data pre-processing pipelines for AI/ML workloads. You will build scalable data infrastructure and automated benchmarks to deliver high-quality training datasets across multimodal data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pre-processing pipelines for petabyte-scale datasets.
• Develop data quality frameworks including deduplication, filtering, toxicity detection, PII removal, and content classification.
• Optimize pipeline performance across distributed compute environments.
• Define data transformation logic such as tokenization, normalization, formatting, and schema standardization.
• Collaborate with Scientists to translate data requirements into solutions.
• Own end-to-end system design from architecture to deployment and operations.
• Drive technical decisions and mentor teammates.
• Establish best practices for data lineage, versioning, and reproducibility.
