Fitch Group is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer for Data Platforms in Chicago. You will join Fitch's Technology & Data Team to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale web applications that power data-driven insights for global financial markets.

The role emphasizes building a portal with microservices, event-driven architecture, and robust APIs. Strong Python, SQL, and AWS data-services experience are essential to succeed in this fast-paced, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, 3+ years hands-on Python.
• Experience with AWS data services (Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) and PySpark/Pandas.
• Relational DB experience with PostgreSQL/Redshift; strong SQL performance.
• Experience with streaming (Kafka) and workflow orchestration (Airflow).
• Data governance exposure, data mesh concepts, or data virtualization tools.
• REST or GraphQL APIs design and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale web applications in an agile team.
• Build an internal portal using frontend, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Develop services to support frontend and publish/consume messaging topics.
• Collaborate with DevOps on the CI/CD pipeline.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Work as part of an agile team in design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale web applications.
• Build an internal portal application using frontend, micro-services, and event-driven architecture.
• Develop service-oriented applications to support the frontend and produce/consume messaging topics.

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years hands‑on experience with Python.
• Experience with AWSdata services(Glue,Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) and frameworks - PySpark, Pandas, and similar fullstack technologies.
• You have experiencewith relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redshift or other similar. Strong SQL proficiency with demonstrated ability to optimize queries and tune performance across relational and analytical databases.
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka) and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow).
• Practical experience with data governance and exposure to data mesh architectures or data virtualization tools, cloud data warehouses and modern table formats.
• Demonstrated ability to design and build REST or GraphQL APIs with integrated data/ML features.

FOR CHICAGO ROLES ONLY:Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $150,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long‑term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
