Job summary
Fidelity is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to advance enterprise data platform capabilities across cloud and on-prem environments. You will design data architecture, enable high-volume data movement, and optimize SQL/PLSQL workloads while supporting Oracle and Snowflake ecosystems.
You will lead cross-functional projects, mentor peers, and contribute to risk assessment and strategy discussions with senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience implementing and maintaining Oracle replication technologies (GoldenGate, Data Guard, HVR).
- Ability to design data models and perform capacity planning, indexing, partitioning, archiving, and HA/DR strategies.
- Experience building Snowflake deployments with large databases on Oracle Exadata and AWS.
- Proven track record in designing and maintaining Snowflake environments with multiple databases.
Responsibilities
- Participates in data architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application-level data architecture.
- Develops data applications on complex projects across divisions.
- Reviews test plans and ensures QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Plans full project life cycles across platforms and constraints.
- Mentors junior team members and shares technical guidance.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
