Fidelity is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to advance enterprise data platform capabilities across cloud and on-prem environments. You will design data architecture, enable high-volume data movement, and optimize SQL/PLSQL workloads while supporting Oracle and Snowflake ecosystems.
You will lead cross-functional projects, mentor peers, and contribute to risk assessment and strategy discussions with senior leadership.

Advances enterprise data platform capabilities by engineering cross-platform data services across cloud and enterprise database environments. Designs and implements database engineering patterns and services supporting schema evolution, workload isolation, resource governance, automated releases, and lifecycle management. Engineers high-volume data movement, replication, and synchronization capabilities to enable near real-time and continuous data availability across heterogeneous database platforms. Performs deep performance engineering across SQL and PL/SQL workloads through execution plan analysis, capacity planning, and workload optimization. Provides application database administration for Oracle and Snowflake, including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, data modeling, and development support. Builds cross platform data ingestion and movement pipelines using Snowflake external stages, SnowSQL, streams, tasks, and Oracle utilities.
Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing enterprise data platform engineering using Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle GoldenGate in large-scale production environments.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing enterprise data platform engineering using Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle GoldenGate in large-scale production environments.
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
