Matterworks, Inc. is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build the connective tissue of our data platform. You will design, implement, and scale data pipelines that enrich raw samples into useful datasets with biological context. You will collaborate with ML researchers, scientists, and product teams.

You will report to the Head of Engineering and work with a cross-disciplinary team to deliver data-driven capabilities at scale.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience building production data systems and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale data contracts and pipelines that serve multiple petabytes of data.
• Develop cost-efficient data storage, retrieval, and serving strategies at scale.
• Create datasets with consistent schemas and metadata, enabling downstream analyses.
• Automate quality gates and validation to prevent regression on publish.
• Own interfaces for SDKs and tools accessed by AI, chemistry, product, and agents.
