Job summary

ApartmentIQ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the evolution of our shared data platform—the core infrastructure powering all three ApartmentIQ products. You will be a key architect of data capabilities, shaping the roadmap by expanding coverage, improving freshness, and enabling deeper insights for the multifamily industry.

You will translate product objectives into high-performance data outcomes, lead end-to-end data delivery, and collaborate with Product and Application

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software or data engineering experience delivering pipelines powering customer-facing features.
• Strong experience in Ruby on Rails and Python.
• Deep understanding of large-scale data collection including web scraping, parsing, proxy management, and structured feed ingestion.
• Hands-on experience with batch-style data workflows using dbt, Airflow, or similar.
• Cloud native expertise in AWS infrastructure (RDS, ECS, S3, Lambda, OpenSearch).
• Familiar with modern stacks for performance tracking, error monitoring, and distributed tracing.
• Strong ability to translate complex technical details into clear, actionable product outcomes.
• Adaptable and autonomous in a fast-paced growth-stage environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data delivery across products, aligning priorities with product goals.
• Scale data ingestion pipelines for 10M+ units via XML/JSON feeds, web scraping, and API exposure.
• Define data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness standards for datasets.
• Collaborate with Product and Application Engineering to unlock features and insights.
• Build observability with monitoring, anomaly detection, and automated alerts.
