Job summary

Nucor Corporation's NBT Data & Analytics team seeks a Senior Data Engineer in Waterloo, IN to advance the data platform, standards, and roadmap. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 10+ years in data engineering, BI architecture, or enterprise data platforms.
• 5+ years in a senior-level technical role with mentorship/leadership responsibilities.
• Experience architecting/operating an enterprise data warehouse or cloud data platform (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric).
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build upon Lakehouse pattern and set standards for data domain boundaries and orchestration.
• Provide technical leadership, review designs, and mentor engineers.
• Own monitoring and observability standards to detect issues early.
• Collaborate with DBAs, IT, and business divisions on connectivity, security, and data access policy.
• Lead data platform and tooling roadmap, migrations, and strategic data initiatives.
• Maintain safety, reliability, and data quality as core responsibilities.
