ServiceNow is seeking an IC5 SeniorStaffEngineer to architect and deliver large-scale distributed platform components within the Data Platform group. You will lead high-impact engineering initiatives, drive data lake architectures, and build scalable data ingestion pipelines using modern tooling.

This role demands deep expertise in distributed systems, Java, and operating at scale. You will collaborate across teams to refine requirements, ensure reliability, and mentor others while championing

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 8+ years with a Master's degree, OR 6+ years with a PhD OR equivalent work experience.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals and design patterns.
• Deep programming expertise in Java, including JVM internals and GC.
• Experience with JVM performance tuning, profiling, and bottlenecks.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems deployment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver large-scale distributed platform components.
• Lead complex technical initiatives with leadership and hands-on depth.
• Design easy-to-use, extensible software for customer environments.
• Deliver high-quality, modular code and enforce engineering best practices.
