Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking an IC5 Senior Staff Engineer to architect and deliver large-scale distributed platform components. You will lead complex initiatives, define engineering standards, and deliver reliable, high‑performance data systems.

You will build data ingestion pipelines with Apache Iceberg and Spark, collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, mentor engineers, and drive platform innovation in a hybrid, office-based model with 2 days per week in ServiceNow offices such as

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8+ years with a Master's, or 6+ years with a PhD.
• Experience integrating AI into engineering work and AI tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build high‑performance distributed systems and platform components.
• Build distributed systems data ingestion solutions with scalability and reliability.
• Design easy-to-extend, configurable software for customer environments.
• Deliver clean, modular code with reviews, tests, and automation.
• Create foundational libraries and tools for modularity and maintainability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for complex projects.
• Research and adopt new technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
• Troubleshoot production issues across distributed systems.
