Job summary

Nestlé is seeking an Expert Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize a scalable data platform across Databricks, Azure, and Snowflake. You will develop reusable pipelines, automation, and patterns that ensure reliable, secure, and cost-efficient data delivery.

You will work with cross-functional teams to translate data needs into platform capabilities, implement CI/CD and IaC, and ensure governance and security are embedded by design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Management, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, cloud data platforms, or related tech roles.
• Expertise building scalable distributed data systems across Databricks, Azure, Spark, SQL-based platforms, and cloud services.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and one modern language (Python/Scala/Java).

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize core enterprise data platform capabilities for scalable ingestion, processing, and storage across Azure Datalake, Databricks, Snowflake.
• Develop reusable data pipelines, engineering frameworks, and automation patterns to accelerate delivery.
• Architect high-throughput batch, streaming, and near-real-time data processing using modern patterns and cloud services.
• Optimize Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Synapse components for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Embed governance, security, quality, and metadata controls into platform capabilities by design.
• Build and maintain CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, monitoring, and environment management.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analytics engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver scalable platform solutions.
• Lead root-cause analysis on complex data pipeline issues and implement durable remedies.
