Job summary

Blue Yonder seeks a Principal Data Platform Engineer to own the enterprise data and AI platform estate including Power BI, AtScale, and Databricks. You will drive platform reliability, governance, and cost optimization, influencing architecture and security decisions at scale.

This senior IC role requires hands-on platform administration paired with strategic judgment, reporting to executive stakeholders and enabling hundreds of users across the organization.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing enterprise data/platforms at scale.
• Strong knowledge of Databricks, Power BI, AtScale, and Azure.
• Proven ability to define standards and govern platform usage.
• Experience with cost optimization and FinOps practices.
• Excellent communication with executive stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead without direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day administration and health of the data/AI platform estate (Power BI, AtScale, Databricks)
• Administer Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, and workspace security
• Manage Power BI tenant: settings, capacity, data gateways, deployment pipelines
• Administer AtScale semantic model deployment and catalog management
• Define enterprise AI platform entitlement, workspace structure, and enable new capabilities
• Define and run upgrade/patch/release processes with minimal disruption
