Job summary

Blue Yonder is seeking a Principal Data Platform Engineer to own and operate the enterprise data and AI platforms, including Databricks, Power BI, and AtScale. The role combines hands-on platform administration with architectural judgment on cost, governance, and enterprise-scale reliability.

The candidate will manage workspace security, data catalogs, and semantic layers while guiding upgrade cycles and automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data platform engineering or analytics engineering with enterprise-scale platforms.
• 5+ years administering Databricks and Azure in production, including security and cost controls.
• 5+ years managing enterprise analytics platforms like Power BI for large user bases.
• Proven ownership of platform governance and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day administration and health of Power BI, Databricks, AtScale, and AI tooling.
• Manage workspace security, cluster policies, and data cataloging across platforms.
• Define upgrade/patch processes and roll out changes with minimal user disruption.
• Build runbooks and self-service docs to reduce recurring support demand.
• Partner with security, IT, and legal on governance and data residency.
