Job summary

ISO New England is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouses, data marts, and BI data systems that drive strategic decisions. You will lead architecture, ensure reliability, and mentor the data engineering team in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires 8+ years in data engineering, strong SQL and Python, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS). Relocation assistance available and a performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or analytics roles.
• 5+ years of hands-on SQL and Python, building scalable data pipelines.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS: S3, Lambda, Athena, Aurora, Glue, Redshift).
• Strong relational data modeling, DB design, and performance optimization (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own Data Architecture & Solution Delivery: Lead design/implementation of scalable data platforms (data warehouses, data marts, ETL/ELT) and establish modeling standards.
• Drive Platform Performance & Reliability: Ensure availability and performance; oversee pipeline reliability and production readiness.
• Lead Data Strategy & Integration: Align data architecture with business goals; drive data integration and accessibility.
• Advance Innovation & Technical Leadership: Evaluate new tools/tech, mentor team, foster engineering excellence.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support mission-critical analytics in production.
