Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an accomplished Platform Architect to lead architecture reviews and design end-to-end data platform architectures. You will integrate Airflow with cloud infrastructure, ensure scalability, security, and observability, and guide customers through deployments and migrations.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in data or platform architecture, strong Python/SQL skills, and hands-on experience with Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native data tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or solution architecture.
• Expertise authoring and deploying Airflow DAGs to production and monitoring executions.
• Experience tuning Airflow performance and implementing data quality checks and alerts.
• Proven track record guiding customers through platform deployments and migrations.
• Cloud-native data platform design on AWS, Azure, or GCP with security and networking know-how.
• Programming experience in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Ability to lead architecture discussions with engineering leaders and executives.
• Strong writing and speaking skills to translate business needs into scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture reviews, workshops, and technical design sessions with engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
• Design end-to-end platform architectures integrating Airflow with cloud infrastructure, compute frameworks, and data platforms.
• Review delivery work to ensure high standards for scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence.
• Diagnose and resolve issues, guide customers through deployments, migrations, and platform modernization.
• Build reusable tools, frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices that improve delivery quality across the organization.
