Job summary

Astronomer in the United States is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to partner with clients, designing and deploying data workflows using Apache Airflow within our unified DataOps platform. You will help customers solve complex data challenges and influence product direction through field feedback.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in data engineering or related consultative roles, hands-on Airflow experience, and familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or Tableau.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Consulting or similar role within the data space.
• Hands-on experience with data tools used in industry (Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran, Tableau).
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement proof-of-concept data workflows for customers from concept to production.
• Conduct demos and provide technical guidance to engineering teams on our platform.
• Contribute to the Apache Airflow community by sharing best practices and content.
• Gather field insights to influence product direction and roadmaps.
