Job summary

Amazon in Seattle, WA seeks a senior software engineer to lead the next generation of the Lambda data plane. You will architect and implement fast, secure, and highly available systems for trillions of invocations across AWS Regions, collaborating with teams on new compute models and serverless experiences.

You will mentor engineers, shape the roadmap, and own end-to-end delivery from design to operations in a fast-paced, highly available environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of large-scale systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of large-scale, highly available, low-latency data plane systems across AWS Regions
• Set technical direction across teams and influence the Lambda roadmap
• Own complex problems end to end from customer need to deployment and operations
• Drive improvements in invoke latency, scaling, security, and resilience
• Help define and deliver new serverless compute experiences for various workloads
• Mentor engineers, lead design and code reviews, raise engineering bar
• Lead operational excellence: observability, deployment safety, incident response
• Collaborate with product managers and partner AWS teams to deliver results for customers
