Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Software Development Engineer for AWS Lambda in Seattle, WA. You will help lead the data plane, shaping high‑throughput, low‑latency systems across regions and new compute models. Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of large-scale, highly available, low-latency data plane systems that handle customer traffic across AWS Regions.
• Set technical direction across teams, balancing near-term delivery with long-term architecture, and influence the Lambda roadmap.
• Own complex, ambiguous problems end to end, from customer need to design, implementation, deployment, and operations.
• Drive major improvements in invoke latency, scaling speed, efficiency, security, and resilience.
• Help define and deliver new serverless compute experiences for web, event-driven, and instance-based workloads.
• Mentor engineers, lead design and code reviews, and raise the engineering bar across the organization.
• Lead operational excellence: set standards for observability, deployment safety, and incident response, and drive lasting fixes.
• Work with product managers, engineering leaders, and partner AWS teams to deliver results for customers.
