Job summary

Kforce Inc. is seeking a Data Architect in New York, NY to lead data discovery and assess data sources, identifying migration, retention, archival, or purging needs. The role requires 12–15 years of experience in data migration and related fields and hands-on SQL with relational databases.

You will define end-to-end migration strategies, develop data migration scripts, and support SIT/UAT, production cutover, and post-go-live hypercare, providing clear reporting on readiness, progress, and risks.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of experience in data migration, data engineering, ETL, database development, data conversion, or enterprise application migration.
• Demonstrated experience leading data workstreams for large-scale migration/transformations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience developing and executing data migration and data-purging scripts.
• Experience with data profiling, cleansing, transformation, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
• Experience handling complex parent/child and object dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead data discovery and assessment with application owners, SMEs, technical teams, and data owners.
• Assess databases, file repositories, document stores, interfaces, and other data sources for migration/retention/archival/purge.
• Translate purging requirements into executable technical rules and criteria.
• Define end-to-end data migration approach including extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, validation, reconciliation, and exception handling.
• Develop and execute SQL scripts, ETL processes, APIs, and maintenance utilities; participate in code reviews and non-production testing.
• Support SIT/UAT, production cutover, and post-go-live hypercare; resolve data migration and reconciliation issues.
