Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Data Migration Engineer Senior to lead high-volume data migrations and modernize government systems. You will own ETL/ELT pipelines, data mapping, cleansing, and validation, ensuring data quality while coordinating with cloud, DevSecOps, QA, and product teams.

This on-site role in Huntsville, AL requires strong experience and a Top Secret clearance. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in data migration, advanced ETL/ELT skills, and AWS exposure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in data migration, ETL/ELT development, data integration, or large-scale data engineering; a Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Advanced experience designing, developing, and operating ETL/ELT pipelines for complex structured and unstructured datasets.
• Strong experience with data mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation, data quality, and troubleshooting in high-volume migration environments.
• Experience with cloud-based data migration, automation, scripting, and/or big data technologies; AWS experience preferred.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data migration to modern cloud environments.
• Develop data mapping, transformation, cleansing, and validation processes to ensure data integrity and quality.
• Coordinate with cloud, DevSecOps, data engineering, QA, and product teams for migration readiness and testing.
• Provide technical guidance to mid-level engineers and improve migration automation and pipeline performance.
• Create migration specs, mappings, and technical documentation compliant with federal data governance and security requirements.
