Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Migration Engineer who will lead complex ETL/ELT operations for a major federal modernization program. This onsite role in Huntsville, Alabama, requires architecting and sustaining high-volume data migration pipelines from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.

You will work as a senior contributor within the Migration Workstream, ensuring data quality, performance, and reliability, while coordinating with Cloud Engineers, DBAs, DevSecOps, and product

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in ETL development or data migration.
• Strong experience with ETL tools, scripting languages, automation frameworks, and high-volume data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with legacy system extraction, cloud ingestion, and multi-format data transformation.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to operate in fast-paced, multi-team environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for petabyte-scale data migration.
• Lead data migration operations and ensure correct sequencing and validation during cycles.
• Perform data quality checks and lead root-cause analysis for data defects.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, DBAs, DevSecOps, QA/Test Engineers, and Product Owners.
• Create and maintain ETL documentation including data maps, flow diagrams, and SOPs.
