Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Data Risk Enhancement professional to shape and operationalize data lineage risk across business and technology teams. You will identify critical data flows, assess end-to-end risks, and translate insights into prioritized roadmaps with clear tradeoffs.

You’ll partner with stakeholders to implement metrics, elevate emerging risks, and ensure lineage drives safer business decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying, analyzing, and mitigating data risk related to integrity, quality, security, and privacy.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data lineage and data flows across complex systems to understand data creation, transformation, and consumption, and identify risk concentrations.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with experience translating lineage and risk signals into prioritization insights.
• Ability to drive actionable outcomes in ambiguity and mobilize cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills to explain data lineage and risk concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience operationalizing data risk metrics, monitoring trends, and escalating emerging risks.
• Proficiency with data governance, risk management, and metadata tools; familiarity with SQL and data management policies.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in data related fields; broader data strategy, analytics, governance, or engineering experience.
• Proven track record leading and developing business change initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Identify critical data flows and assess risk exposure across end-to-end lineages.
• Translate insights into clear prioritization signals and actionable roadmaps.
• Define and apply risk criteria, surface tradeoffs, and mobilize teams to address material risks.
• Partner with stakeholders to operationalize metrics and targeted reporting.
• Elevate emerging risks to senior management and ensure data lineage is actively used to improve risk posture.
