Job summary

HomeServe USA, based in Norwalk, CT, seeks a Principal Data Architect/Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of a metadata-driven AWS Lakehouse platform. You will drive secure, scalable data solutions, including Bronze through Gold layers and governance, enabling analytics, AI/ML, and enterprise decision-making.

The role requires hands-on cloud-native data platform expertise (Iceberg, S3 Tables, Lake Formation, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, API Gateway) and a strong emphasis on TDD

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Hands-on experience as the technical owner of a production AWS Lakehouse.
• Experience building metadata-driven data platforms and governance.
• Strong communication and collaboration with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead evolution, optimization, and governance of HomeServe’s AWS-based data Lakehouse.
• Enhance metadata-driven ingestion, transformation, and orchestration frameworks.
• Design and optimize batch and real-time data processing with AWS services.
• Manage data governance, including PII tokenization and access controls.
• Expand and maintain Customer 360 and Master Data Management capabilities.
• Set standards for a small data engineering team and promote quality.
• Drive DataOps and DevOps practices, including CI/CD and ephemeral environments.
• Develop runbooks, monitoring, and incident response processes.
