Job summary

GitBook is seeking a data-focused professional to make data a core lever for product and business decisions in a highly autonomous role. You’ll partner with product, engineering, and growth to define metrics, run experiments, and shape the data architecture and tooling.

The role emphasizes turning questions into insights, evolving data models and pipelines, and enabling teams to use data effectively across the company.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL, data modeling, and analytics skills.
• Comfortable learning new tools and evolving a modern data environment.
• Ability to translate questions into actionable insights and influence product decisions.

Responsibilities

• Work with product and engineering to identify opportunities, define metrics, run experiments, and influence the roadmap
• Turn messy questions into analysis, insights, and actions that improve product and company metrics
• Collaborate with the Head of Data on our data architecture, foundations, and long‑term vision
• Evolve our data models, pipelines, instrumentation, and tooling as our needs change
• Decide when to build, buy, or use lightweight solutions to solve data problems efficiently
• Take our existing internal data agent to the next level, making it more useful and accessible across the company
• Help teams across GitBook become more autonomous and effective in how they use data
