Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a senior staff software engineer to lead the next generation of data infrastructure powering mission-critical big data and AI applications. You’ll steer strategy, design, and execution across petabyte-scale datasets and open-source tech like Flink, Spark, Kubernetes, and more.

Collaborate with internal teams to address core data processing needs, improve reliability and performance, and shape the long-term technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field.
• 10+ years of industry experience with data infrastructure and big data platforms.
• Experience building and supporting large-scale Kubernetes or data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and technical direction of Pinterest’s data infrastructure for big data and AI applications.
• Build and scale data infra frameworks and infrastructure for petabyte-scale datasets.
• Collaborate with internal customers on critical business use cases relying on big data.
• Provide thought leadership on reliable, fast, scalable data processing and storage.
• Contribute to the team's long-term technical vision and roadmap.
