Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a senior staff software engineer to lead the next generation of data infrastructure powering big data and AI applications. You will steer strategy, build scalable data infra frameworks, and collaborate with internal customers on critical data use cases.

You will drive technical vision, contribute to the long-term roadmap, and work with open-source technologies at exabyte-scale data. This role requires partnership across teams and a strong foundation in distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry experience with a track record of technical excellence.
• 5+ years building and supporting large-scale Kubernetes or big data platforms.
• Deep knowledge of big data / ML technologies (Flink, Spark, Kubernetes, Ray, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Proficiency in programming languages (Java, Go, Scala, Python).
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and technical direction of Pinterest's data infrastructure for big data and AI applications.
• Build and scale data infra frameworks and infrastructure for petabytes-scale datasets, including compute engines and scheduling.
• Collaborate with internal customers on critical business use cases relying on big data.
• Provide thought leadership on reliable, fast, and scalable data processing and storage.
