Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s Digital organization seeks a Lead Data Governance Analyst to advance data governance and data product enablement across multiple domains for the Middle Office and Order to Cash processes. You will partner with domain owners, data stewards, and Digital to turn a federated model into sustainable capabilities.

The role requires coaching, policy translation into platform controls, and driving governance improvements, audits, and KPI development, with hands-on SQL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in data governance or analytics.
• Hands-on SQL data profiling, joins, grain analysis, reconciliation.
• Experience guiding data governance activations across multiple domains.
• Translate policy into data/platform controls and support audits.
• Familiarity with data catalog tools (Databricks Unity Catalog, Purview).

Responsibilities

• Sets the vision for the data governance function in alignment with organizational objectives.
• Drives collaboration between data governance and other strategic departments.
• Acts as primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Develops solutions to complex data governance challenges.
• Leads design of data governance maturity models and roadmaps.
• Oversees data governance budgeting and resource allocation.
• Establishes KPIs for the data governance function.
• Keeps domain activation and governance practices effective.
