Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Data Governance Specialist III to design, implement, and operate the enterprise data governance program within Information Security. The role ensures sensitive clinical, research, and operational data are properly classified, controlled, and used in accordance with regulations and policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, data science, public health or related field.
• Minimum 9 years of experience in data analytics, data management, governance, privacy, security or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical controls.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the enterprise data classification and handling program, including policies and data inventories.
• Develop and operate data lifecycle management processes and retention, de-identification, and secondary use in research.
• Collaborate with OCDO, Privacy, and Legal to apply governance policies across systems, cloud services, and research platforms.
