Job summary

The Office of Data Governance within the Virginia DBHDS is seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to support the Enterprise Data Governance Program. You will collaborate with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Business Owners, and IT teams to establish governed enterprise data for both operational and analytical use cases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related fields.
• Experience implementing enterprise Data Governance programs.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis.
• Experience documenting metadata, glossaries, and data dictionaries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of the DBHDS Enterprise Data Governance Program.
• Facilitate governance workshops with business stakeholders.
• Onboard new applications into the Enterprise Data Governance Program.
• Partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to establish governance for new datasets.
• Develop and maintain governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Capture and maintain business and technical metadata, and data dictionaries.
