Job summary

Talent Portus is seeking a senior Data Governance Analyst to lead and mature an enterprise data governance program in a hybrid Richmond, VA setting. The role focuses on partnering with data owners, stewards, and IT to define data definitions, policies, and quality controls.

The candidate will drive data lineage, metadata management, and data quality initiatives while collaborating with business and technical teams to ensure compliance and value realization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, or related field.
• Experience implementing or supporting Enterprise Data Governance programs.
• Proven ability to run governance workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with Metadata Management, Data Dictionaries, and Business Glossaries.
• Experience defining Business Rules and CDEs.
• Strong understanding of Data Profiling and Data Reconciliation.
• Experience with Data Stewardship, Data Ownership, and Governance Policies.
• Experience with Data Lineage and Data Flow.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data governance initiatives with data owners and stewards across the organization.
• Define and maintain business definitions, metadata, data quality rules, and governance policies.
• Document data lineage, data flow, and data ownership for critical data assets.
• Facilitate governance workshops with business and technical stakeholders to drive consistency.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing development of an enterprise Data Governance program.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Data Governance, Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Stewardship, Data Lineage, and Business Glossaries. This role will work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, business stakeholders, and technical teams to establish and maintain effective data governance practices.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Business Analysis, or a related field

• Strong experience implementing or supporting Enterprise Data Governance programs
