McLane Co. is seeking a Sr Data Engineering Manager to lead data engineering strategy, design scalable pipelines, and champion AI across platforms. The role oversees cloud/hybrid modernization including lakehouse and real-time ingestion, and guides enterprise standards and data modeling.

The candidate will drive DataOps, cost optimization, and data product development while leading diverse teams and aligning with business goals. Location is hybrid from Temple, TX area.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS/Engineering/Statistics or related field.
• 7+ years in data engineering/data platform engineering, 3+ years leading teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with GCP and modern data architectures.
• Experience with AI applications in data engineering is a plus.
• Proficiency with Spark, SQL, Python; DataOps, CI/CD, IaC.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy controls.

Responsabilidades

• Define and execute the data engineering strategy and operating model.
• Lead the design, development, and modernization of scalable data pipelines.
• Champion the application of AI across data platforms and products.
• Lead cloud and hybrid platform modernization (lakehouse, streaming, ingestion).
• Establish enterprise standards, architectures, data modeling, and metadata/lineage.
• Deliver scalable, cost‑optimized platforms with performance focus.
• Build reusable data pipelines and domain data products for analytics and AI.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Implement DataOps practices (CI/CD, testing, observability).
• Lead and develop high‑performing teams; manage vendor strategy and tool selection.
• Drive continuous improvement via SLIs/SLOs, data quality, and cost metrics.
