Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Data Engineering & Analytics to lead end-to-end architecture, migration, governance and team building for a cloud-native lakehouse on GCP/BigQuery. You will architect a governed Looker BI layer and drive AI copilots to boost velocity and reliability.

You will also develop ML-ready data foundations and partner with data science to scale production models, while hiring and mentoring a high-performing analytics organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/IS.
• 10+ years in data engineering/architecture; 6+ years leading enterprise data teams.
• Proven cloud data platform experience (GCP/BigQuery preferred; Azure/AWS/Snowflake/Databricks).
• Track record shipping a cloud data lakehouse or modern platform at enterprise scale.
• Experience with Looker or Power BI and governed self-service reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the data platform roadmap and migrate to a modern GCP/BigQuery lakehouse.
• Build a governed BI architecture with Looker semantic layer and self-service analytics.
• Introduce AI copilots and automation to raise velocity and reliability.
• Create ML-ready data foundation and collaborate with data science to productionize models.
• Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing data engineering and analytics organization.
