Job summary

Algonomy is seeking a Senior Database Developer/Programmer to join the Center of Excellence in IT Professional Services. You will lead the design, development, testing, release, and support of data and reporting applications to enable enterprise data services, collaborating with IT Infrastructure to align server and security needs.

The role requires strong SQL Server expertise, data modeling, and hands-on experience with ETLs, data warehousing, and BI concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university.
• 6-7 years of experience in the solution development life cycle for data processing and reporting applications.
• Extensive data modeling for relational and multidimensional databases.
• Performance tuning and database design for SQL Server.
• Experience building ODS, Data Marts, and/or Data Warehouses.
• Experience with non-relational data sources (flat files, Excel, JSON, APIs).
• Familiarity with Self-Service BI platforms and data quality/master data management.
• Experience teaching/mentoring developers and users.

Responsibilities

• Participates in a team-based, scrum development environment.
• Adheres to best practices, standards, and design patterns for data and reporting apps.
• Clarifies business requirements to deliver solutions meeting business needs.
• Design, develop, test, release, maintain, and support data applications (ETLs/apis).
• Perform data modeling and database design for reporting applications.
• Conduct data migration design and implementation as needed.
• Participate in design/code reviews and document implementations.
