Job summary

El Car Wash is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain its enterprise data platform, enabling analytics, reporting, and business applications across Finance, Operations, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Technology.

You will work on a Snowflake-based medallion architecture, optimize data models with dbt Cloud, and partner with various teams to deliver trusted data and reporting solutions. This role emphasizes scalable pipelines, data governance, and future AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in data engineering, warehousing, or analytics.
• Strong Snowflake expertise including security and performance.
• dbt/ dbt Cloud for modeling, testing, and deployment.
• Advanced SQL; experience modernizing legacy SQL environments.
• Dimensional modeling with Kimball methods and SCD Type 2.
• ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and orchestration tools.
• Azure cloud services including Data Lake Storage and Data Factory.
• Git-based version control and CI/CD experience.
• Integrating multiple enterprise apps and APIs.
• Knowledge of Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Experience in retail/hospitality/automotive multi-location businesses is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within Snowflake (bronze-silver-gold).
• Develop and optimize data models with dbt Cloud to create reliable datasets.
• Integrate data from POS, HRIS, ERP, CRM, Finance, Marketing, and ops systems.
• Lead migration of legacy SQL Server/Azure SQL to cloud-based architecture.
• Develop a unified enterprise data model across sources and acquisitions.
• Build automated ingestion, transformation, and change-detection processes.
• Implement data quality, testing, documentation, monitoring, and governance.
• Establish CI/CD processes and version control for data development.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Tech for trusted reporting.
• Support BI, dashboards, self-service analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Troubleshoot data issues and optimize platform performance.
