Job summary

Roku is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design data models and build scalable pipelines capturing metrics across Roku devices, TVs, web, and mobile clients. You will enable data-driven decisions for content discovery and viewing experiences worldwide, handling terabytes daily and petabyte-scale warehouses.

You will contribute to architecture, influence product roadmap, and own projects from inception to delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Excellent SQL skills with complex queries.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting language.
• Extensive experience with Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Presto/Trino.
• Deep expertise in Spark including tuning and scalable pipelines.
• Data modeling across conceptual, logical, and physical models.
• Experience collaborating with developers, analysts, and operations.
• BS in CS; MS preferred.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Looker.
• AI literacy and growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable data processing systems (batch/streaming) handling tens of TBs daily.
• Design data models and self-service analytics-ready datasets.
• Develop pipelines prioritizing data quality and resilience.
• Own data mapping, transformations, and quality standards.
• Debug, measure performance, and optimize large production clusters.
• Participate in architecture discussions and influence the roadmap.
• Maintain and evolve platforms with newer tech stacks.
