Job summary

Safelite is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines, focusing on ingestion, replication, and CI/CD for batch and streaming data at our Home Office in Columbus, OH. You’ll collaborate with product teams and software engineers to deliver scalable ETL solutions and ensure data quality for analytics.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years in data engineering, strong SQL, Python, Airflow, and experience migrating legacy systems.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/Analytics or related field.
4–6 years in data engineering or analytics role required.
Strong experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and tools (Fivetran, Airbyte, Stitch, Informatica).
Proficient in Snowflake/BigQuery and related databases.
Advanced SQL skills including window functions, CTEs, and nested queries.
Experience with Python and data transformation tooling.

Responsibilities

Contribute to modernization of legacy data ingestion processes for streaming and batch.
Build scalable ETL pipelines into a centralized data lake.
Develop CI/CD pipelines to automate data engineering workflows.
Improve monitoring and alerts to ensure data quality and uptime.
Collaborate with product owners and engineers on ingestion requirements.
Participate in cross‑functional projects to integrate source changes.
Align data solutions with business needs and analytics readiness.
Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to policies.
