Safelite Group seeks a Senior Data Engineer to implement and maintain data pipelines, focusing on ingestion, replication, and CI/CD for batch and streaming data. You will contribute to data infrastructure, ensuring quality and reliability for analytics teams.

The role requires 4–6 years in data engineering, strong SQL, Python, and experience with Snowflake/BigQuery, plus ETL tools like Fivetran or Airbyte. Office-based in Columbus, OH with collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics or related field.
• 4–6 years hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics.
• Extensive ETL/ELT experience with data pipelines (Fivetran, Airbyte, Stitch, Informatica).
• Proficiency with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery) and databases.
• Advanced SQL skills (window functions, CTEs, nested queries).
• Experience with script-based transformations (dbt, Talend).
• Experience with Git version control.
• Strong data governance, security and RBAC knowledge.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience mentoring data teams and architecting ingestion from legacy systems.
• Orchestration of pipelines with Airflow or Dagster.

Responsibilities

• Modernize and enhance legacy data ingestion processes for streaming and batch.
• Build scalable ETL pipelines to centralize data ingestion into a data lake.
• Develop and deploy CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
• Enhance monitoring and alerting to ensure data quality and uptime.
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to define ingestion requirements.
• Integrate source system changes into downstream pipelines and reporting assets.
• Ensure data engineering solutions align with business needs and analytics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
