Job summary

American Transmission Company (ATC) is seeking a Data Engineer who will design and build scalable data solutions, enabling analytics and operational decision-making across the organization.

You will develop reliable ETL/ELT processes and data models, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable data capabilities while leveraging cloud and on‑prem technologies. relocation to WI or Upper Peninsula MI is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Five+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting production data pipelines.
• Experience building data solutions for reporting, analytics, and BI.
• Hands-on experience with Python Notebook, Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
• Strong Python and PySpark development experience.
• Experience integrating systems via REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience with SQL Server technologies including SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.
• Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source control and DevOps platforms.
• Experience supporting data governance, data quality, and enterprise data management practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Design and support enterprise data platforms enabling analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
• Create reliable ETL/ELT processes using cloud and on-prem tech.
• Develop data models and architectures for BI and enterprise reporting.

• Communicate complex concepts to support business outcomes and informed decisions.
• Evaluate new technologies and approaches to modernize data platforms and improve efficiency.
