Job summary

American Transmission Company (ATC) is seeking a Data Engineer to design and build scalable data solutions for powering the electric grid. You will develop reliable data pipelines, create data models, and support analytics and reporting for business users.

This role requires relocation to Wisconsin or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and it is not 100% remote. You will collaborate with IT, analytics, and operations to advance cloud and on-premise data platforms while ensuring data quality and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Data Science, Software Engineering
  • Five or more years of experience designing, developing, and supporting production data pipelines.
  • Experience building data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
  • Hands-on experience with Python Notebook, Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong Python and PySpark development experience.
  • Experience integrating systems through REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies including SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source control and DevOps platforms.
  • Experience supporting data governance, data quality, and enterprise data management practices.

Essential Responsibilities: ATC embraces flexibility in our work and our workplace. What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Five or more years of experience designing, developing, and supporting production data pipelines.
  • Experience building data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
  • Hands‑on experience with Python Notebook, Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong Python and PySpark development experience.
  • Experience integrating systems through REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies including SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source control and DevOps platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data warehouses, data marts, lakehouses, or modern cloud‑based data platforms.
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Experience with data observability, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data architecture and master data management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or comparable analytics platforms.
  • Experience working in utility, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.

The targeted base pay for this position is $128,400 to $149,800 annually.* Base pay is one component of our comprehensive total rewards package which includes an annual incentive bonus, employer-sponsored pension plan, 401(k) match, HSA contribution, life & disability insurance, health care benefits, generous time off plans, flexible work arrangements, and much more. *The pay range is a general guideline. Employment offers are evaluated individually and consider qualifications, experience, academic achievements, internal equity, and business needs.
