Job summary

Equinox is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to build and evolve our data platform, pipelines, and integration tools. You will shape data strategy, ensure scalability and security, and lead initiatives across the data warehouse and analytics stack.

The role is hybrid and based in NYC, with in-office presence four days per week. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, expertly leveraging AWS (Redshift, Glue, S3, Athena, EMR) and dbt, while mentoring teammates and driving data governance and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise data warehouses.
• Strong SQL skills with large datasets and performance optimization.
• Hands-on AWS data services experience (Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, EMR).
• Familiarity with dbt and modern ELT/analytics engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data architecture and pipelines on AWS.
• Build and manage data models and schemas to enable self-service analytics.
• Monitor and optimize data jobs for high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Data Science and Analytics teams to deliver reliable datasets.
