Capital One is seeking a Data Engineer 4 in McLean, VA to join Risk Tech. You will design, build, and deploy cloud-first data pipelines using Spark, Python, SQL, and modern lakehouse platforms.

Collaborate across teams to deliver scalable data solutions and mentor others while ensuring data security and compliance. The role emphasizes machine learning infused risk management, real-time data workflows, and strong partnership with product managers to enable informed decision-making for customers

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field required.
4+ years in application development with distributed data experience.
2+ years with SQL and at least one programming language (Python/Java/Scala).
Experience designing end-to-end data pipelines and data models.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Agile teams to design and deploy cloud-first data solutions.
Build scalable data pipelines using Spark, SQL and NoSQL databases.
Architect reusable data engineering patterns for maintainability.
Mentor team members and communicate data outcomes to stakeholders.
Ensure data security and compliance across pipelines and warehouses.
